IUSF lodges complaint with HRCSL over state-sponsored repression! (VIDEO)

Date:

The Inter-University Students Federation (IUSF) today (25) lodged a complaint with the Human Rights Commission of Sri Lanka (HRCSL) over the state-sponsored repression launched against public protests.

IUSF Convener Wasantha Mudalige told media that the conduct of setting up barriers with sharp spikes to repress the protests yesterday violated the democratic rights of the people.

The Police had visited the homes of student leaders and exerted pressure on them, he disclosed.

Despite the Rajapaksas attempting to play various games to protect their power at a time when justice is being decimated in the country, the government now has to step down, Mudalige added.
