UNP backs SJB’s No Confidence Motion against Government

Date:

The United National Party (UNP) has decided to back the No Confidence Motion tabled by the Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) against the government.

Accordingly, working in a manner in which the country’s stability is not collapsed must be established in the power exchange, should the government be defeated from the No Confidence Motion, UNP Deputy Leader Akila Viraj Kariyawasam said.

Having it into consideration, an agreement will be made prior to the passing of such a motion, he added.

Meanwhile, measures should be taken not to appoint a member of the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) to the post of Premiership, Kariyawasam pointed out.
