New laws from Ministry of Sports to catch match-fixers

Subject minister Faizer Mustapha says that the Ministry of Sports is planning to draft new laws to take legal actions against match-fixers.

Speaking about a meeting held between ICC chairperson Shashank Manohar and sports minister and SLC officials, the minister said that they had a strong discussion about advancing the work of Sri Lanka’s cricket board. Minister Faizer Mustapha further said that ICC did not present any recommendations with regard to removing the present interim committee.

Secretary of Ministry of Provincial Councils, Local Government and Sports Kamal Padmasiri said attention will be paid to pitch-fixing as well.
