JVP urges another Commission to investigate Bond Scams

Addressing a media briefing yesterday, JVP MP Vijitha Herath said that a Presidential Commission must be appointed to investigate all transactions that took place between the periods of 1st April 2016 to 30th September 2016 with regards to the Central Bank bond scam.


MP Herath stated this as the Presidential Commission appointed to investigate Central Bank bond scam was investigating all transactions only up to the 31st March 2016.

Perpetual Treasuries Ltd (PTL) owned by Ajun Aoysius the son in law of Arjun Mahendran the then Governor of the Central Bank, earned a whopping sum of Rs. 6814 million within period of six months.

Meanwhile, President Maithripala Sirisena has agreed to appoint a second Presidential Commission to investigate the Central Bank bond scams, MP Herath said.
