Minister of Health, Nutrition and Indigenous Medicine Rajitha Senaratne inspected a pharmaceutical manufacturing factory built by ACE Health Care Formulation Company in Bellapitiya, Horana.
This factory is a Rs.1.5 billion investment and will be opened by the end of 2018. The factory will create 300 job opportunities. The Ministry of Health and State Pharmaceutical Manufacturing Corporation (SPMC) have signed 48 agreements with pharmaceutical manufacturing companies to manufacture medicine needed for Sri Lanka. 2 new pharmaceutical manufacturing factories have been opened in Digana, Kandy and Horana. Minister of Health says that by 2020, Sri Lanka will be able to manufacture necessary medicine within the country.
Chairman of SPMC Dr.Sayura Samarasundara also joined this occasion.
