Gamperaliya is the government’s largest investment program designed to uplift the rural economy.
Through this program, Rs.200 million will be provided for each divisional secretariat in the country to implement development programs.
Under the Gamperaliya program, small lakes in the Kurunegala district will be reconstructed. The government has allocated Rs.4.6 million for the first phase. Department of Agrarian Development will identify and list small lakes and roads that needs to developed and prepare the estimations.
Under this program, it is planned to build the dam of Bulathwewa lake, develop the environmental system around the lake and strengthen harmony amongst peasant communities.
