Update 4: Law in public service not applicable to CDS?

Although CDS Ravindra Wijegunaratne has been released on bail, he had been accused of criminal charges.

He was accused of harboring and abetting Navy Sampath, a main suspect in the case of the abduction and disappearance of 11 youths.

The CDS is a government employee. He is the highest security service officer of the country, not an ordinary officer. According to the laws in the public service, any government employee, who has been remanded on criminal charges, must be suspended. It is not an unusual condition but a law common to everyone in the public service.

But the same law is not implemented against the CDS. He is still serving in his position. Responsible parties owe an explanation as to why that law is no implemented against the CDS.
