Former President George W. Bush Jr, son of former President George HW Bush, has paid tribute to his father leaving an emotional remark during a state funeral in Washington.
The funeral was held at the National Catherdral and was attended by President Donald Trump, former Presidents Barak Obama, Bill Clinton and Jimmy Carter.
The funeral was an ‘invitation-only’ event in which the Prince of Wales, German Chancellor Angela Merkel, Jordan’s King Abdullah the Second, former UK Prime Minister John Major were present.

Presidential Historian Jon Meacham, former Canadian Prime Minister Brian Mulroney and former Wyoming Senator Alan Simpson also made tribute to Mr. Bush.
Wednesday has been officially declared a national day of mourning, while many government officials and UK stock exchanges were closed. Mr. Bush’s flag-draped casket was carried from the Cathedral by a military honour guard and was later taken to Texas. The casket remained in public repose at St. Martin’s Episcopal Church till Thursday (06) morning.
A second service before the ‘Bush 4141’, train which was named in honour of President Bush Sr, will be taken into course for taking his body to its final resting place next to his wife Barbara at the George HW Bush Presidential Library.
George HW Bush was a decorated fighter pilot in World War II, a head of the CIA and Vice-President to Ronald Reagan before being elected President in 1988. During his time the foreign policy was implemented and he was praised on many occasions for how he navigated to end the Cold War, and handled the first Gulf War.
However, Mr. Bush was accused of neglecting domestic affairs. After reneging on a campaign promise not to increase taxes, he lost to Bill Clinton in the Presidential Election held in 1992.
Mr. Bush Sr, who served as the 41st President of the United States between 1989 and 1993, died on Friday (November 30) at the age of 94.
