The Supreme Court today took up the petitions filed against the gazette notice issued by President Maithripala Sirisena to dissolve the Parliament. The petitions will be heard tomorrow (7) as well.
The petitions are being considered by a seven-judge bench headed by Chief Justice Nalin Perera.
The judge bench today (6) decided to extend the interim order issued by the Supreme Court suspending the President’s gazette notice, until December 8.
Several persons including SLPP Chairman Prof. G.L. Peiris expressed their views in the court against the petitions.
