United People's Freedom Alliance (UPFA) Parliamentarian W.D.J. Seneviratne says that President Maithreepala Sirisena too is accountable, to some extent, for adopting the 19th Amendment to the Constitution.
He made these comments addressing a press conference held by the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) yesterday (06).
He said that except for MP Weerasekara from Ampara District, everyone else in the Parliament had voted in favour of the 19th Amendment to the Constitution, adding that they now realize there are holes in the Amendment.
Mr. Seneviratne went on to say that once a stable government is built, the 19th Amendment will be abolished or revisited immediately, and he hardly believes that the President is aware of the deep matters in the Amendment.
However, making a statement to media President Maithreepala Sirisena had declared yesterday that the 19th Amendment to the Constitution was adopted and passed with his tireless contribution and commitment.
