The Colombo Three-member Special High Court today (11) rejected preliminary objections filed in the case filed against former Defense Secretary Gotabaya Rajapaksa for misappropriating Rs 33.9 of public funds during the construction of the D.A. Rajapaksa museum.
The case was taken up before three-member judge bench comprising Sampath Abeykoon, Sampath Wijayaratne and Champa Janaki Rajaratna.
President’s Counsel Romesh De Silva appearing on behalf of Gotabaya Rajapaksa had filed a preliminary objection claiming that the Three-member Special High Court had no jurisdiction to hear the case.
The judge bench delivering its verdict said that the case is being heard on Attorney General’s orders.
The case will be taken up again on 22nd February.
