Officer In Charge for Special Investigations Unit of Southern Province Inspector Saman Rohana arrested in connection to the brutal killings of Rathgama, Boosssa area was ordered to be transferred from Matara to Angunakolapelessa prison by the Magistrate of Galle yesterday (15).
This was when a motion was brought before Magistrate of Galle Mr. Harshana Kekunawela by the attorney in favour of the suspect.
OIC Saman Rohana was sought for transfer by the motion filed by the attorney, reasoning before the court that there are conflicts occurred between suspects imprisoned.
Six police officers and another have been arrested in connection to the crime so far, and despite discoveries that thirteen people were involved in the abduction, no others have been arrested.
Deputy Inspector General for Southern Province Ravi Wijegunawardena was revealed to be directly involved in the crime scene, however, he is reported to be on his duties the usual.
