Presidential commission investigating govt.’s corruption receives 1142 complaints

The presidential commission appointed to investigate allegations of corruption in state institutions from 15th January 2015 to 31st December 2018 has reportedly received 1142 complaints and petitions.

The commission was appointed by President Maithripala Sirisena on 17th January 2019. The deadline to submit complaints, which was extended twice, ended at 5 pm yesterday (19).

A spokesperson of the commission stated 48 complaints have been handed over to the police for further investigations.
