Ravi's formula succeeds, electricity demand dropped!

Daily demand for electricity has been depicting a drop, Minister of Power, Energy and Business Development Ravi Karunanayake says.

The ministry informs that the drop was caused due to closing many state and private institutions and factories amid the seasons.

Minister Ravi Karunanayake requests from people to consume electricity with care, despite outage was solved in 10th.

Nevertheless, it is proposed to solve the power crisis in three stages in which implementations would be carried out short term, medium term and long term, while a committee with lead of the Prime Minister has been appointed for the cause as well.

Although the daily electricity demand was dropped due to festive season, areas near the hydro power generation sites have not been sufficiently rained yet.

Meanwhile, Minister Karunanayake in issuing his message for the Sinhala and Tamil New Year this year states that it is his solemn duty to enlighten the whole country with electricity in making a better life for our people, for which the government would commit maximum.

The minister is confident that all who strengthened him in facing past challenges would be in their side to strengthen the path of the government as well.
