Sabaragamuwa and Bhiksu universities to reopen academia next week

The academic activities of the University of Sabaragamuwa are scheduled to be recommenced on May 21, Registrar of the university V.D. Kithsiri informed.
He said that students are required to return to their hostels on May 20, while given the security concerns, they will not be allowed to the enter the premises before date. 
 
Meanwhile, the academia of the Bhiksu University of Sri Lanka, Anuradhapura is also scheduled to reopen by May 20.
 
The administration of the university informed that the student monks shall return to their hostels on May 19.
 
U.D. Dodanwela, Registrar of the Bhiksu University, stated that study leave for the student monks will commence on May 20, while the first semester of the academic year 2017/2018 will commence on May 29. 
 
The UGC (University Grants Commission) earlier announced that the vice chancellors are authorized to decide on the dates and modes of recommencing academia of their respective universities at any date from May 13, if the security measures are of satisfactory levels.
