Helicopters deployed to monitor violence in country, SLAF says

Helicopters would be deployed to monitor any illegal assemblies and violence in the country, Sri Lanka Air Force Spokesperson Group Captain Gihan Seneviratne said. 
 
The SLAF Spokesperson said that these helicopters would fly across the country day and night to assist control of the violent acts and illegal organizations, adding that the Air Force Commander had decided to deploy the choppers pertaining to tackle the situation.
 
"Measures have already been taken by the SLAF to obtain aerial photographic evidence of incendiary involved in violent behaviour and to submit them to authorities in light of taking legal actions against the lawbreakers," Group Captain Seneviratne said. 
 
The choppers would also be utilized in airlifting troops for rapid response, he added. 
 
The chain of unrest events promoting hatred and violence across the country disrupting communal harmony shall be contained, to which the SLAF is continuing to conduct their routine operations covering the whole island with objective to ensure the return of normalcy, the Group Captain said.
