Special High Court sets date for final submissions in Gamini Senarath's case

The new Special Permanent High Court-at-Bar has ordered the defence and the prosecution to present final submissions on the case of former President's Head of Staff Gamini Senarath, along with two others, for allegedly misappropriating 500 million rupees of funds belonged to Litro Gas, by June 03, 2019. 

Ths was when the case against the former President's Head of Staff was brought before a three-judge bench, consisting Judges Sampath Abeykoon, Sampath Wijeratne and Champa Janaki Rajaratne early today (23).

The defendants had been filed by the Attorney General under the Public Property Act for allegedly misappropriating the said amount of Litro Gas Lanka funds, by investing in ventures including the Helanko Hotels & Spa hotel project, from February 01, 2014 to January 20, 2015.

Piyadasa Kudabalage, Neil Bandara Hapuhinna and Lasantha Bandara were originally produced as the other three defendants to the case. 
 
However, Hapuhinna was released recently by the Special High Court without calling any witnesses.
