Rathupassala again on search operation
Investigations related to the Rathupaswala incident id forging ahead and the weapons that were used for the shooting are being examined.
Accordingly, the area in which the victim Ravishan Perera was shot, during a protest demanding clean drinking water, is being searched for any trace of bullet casings. The CID conducted a four hour special search operation on May 18 to find any empty bullet casings that might still be strewn in that area.
The site of the incident id around 150 metres interior on the Helenwatte road in Weliweriya.  
The search operation commenced around 10.30 am on May 18 and concluded around 2.30 pm. 
CID Special investigations unit OIC Chief Inspector Ranjith Munasinge and SI Upali Bandara directed the search operation with the participation of officers of the Weliweriya Police and Gampaha SOCO division officers.
Although its been some time since the incident occurred, to date there still is evidence of the incident. The walls of houses in Helenwatte Weliweriya, still bear the bullet marks.
the CID team searched the area near the walls with bullet marks for bullet shell casing parts for over four hours but their efforts were futile as they did not find any trace of them.  
Taking the investigations further the CID brought in the Chief Judicial Medical Officer, Dr. Ajith Tennakoon and later resumed the search operation.
