It is the traitors who do not support the proposal that will be moved by the JVP for the abolition of the executive presidency, says ex-minister Ravi Karunanayake.
Not fulfilled by successive presidents, the promise for its abolition should not be avoided now, he says. The UNP will fully support the JVP proposal and everybody else too, should lend support as it will decide the country’s future, says Karunanayake. No one in the government has an ethical right to oppose it.
Stressing that powers of the executive should be abolished in order to prevent the spreading of hatred in the country, he insists that the position should accept the blame for any divisions in the country.
