Cabinet Approves service extension of the head of the FCID

The cabinet decided to grant a service extension for the head of the FCID, Senior Deputy Inspector General Ravi Waidyalankara yesterday.

Minister of Law and Order Ranjith Maddumabandara has presented the cabinet paper with regard to this extension and it has been approved by the cabinet. Subsequently, service of Ravi Widyalankara has been extended for another year.

His service period ends on 14th May. The Inspector General has recommended the National Police Commission to finish the service of Ravi Waidyalankara, since both the Police Special Investigation Unit and Bribery Commission are carrying out investigations against him.

The head of the FCID, Senior Deputy Inspector General joined the police in October, 1979. He was promoted to the position of Senior Deputy Inspector General in March, 2015.
