The soil suppliers had filed a court case against him at Killinochchi Court and Polgampola was in remand for several months after being arrested.

He was released on bail but avoided the court continuously. As reported, he was arrested by the CID for avoiding the court.

He was arrested by Miriihana Special Investigation Unit in 2017 for a financial fraud. Furthermore, he has been accused of several other financial frauds as well.
