President Maithreepala Sirisena and Deputy Leader of the United National Party Sajith Premadasa have secretly engaged in a meeting last night.
The meeting took place at the President’s official residence at Paget Road, and Mr. Sajith Premadasa has entered the place from backdoor avoiding everyone else’s attention.
According to the sources closely associated with Mr. Sajith Premadasa, they reveal that none of the matters discussed during the meeting have been shared with anyone.
However, Mr. Sajith Premadasa has also taken participation at the campaign “Yukthiye Janahanda” aka The People’s Voice for Justice, organized by the UNP held yesterday (30) at Colombo, and addressing the participants he emphasized that he will be ready to even sacrifice his in the name of democracy.
“My father in May first, 1993, sacrificed his life for the labour community. I hereby stand with intention to accept death. We are ready to get bombed, fired. We are ready to sacrifice our lives in the name of democracy. Every drop of my blood will be donated for my people. In every inch of my veins is fragrance of the sweat of my people. No matter if I am being ripped apart into tiny bits, in the name of democracy I will be standing”.
Albeit his above fierce statement at the rally, apparently, now the UNP is puzzled upon Mr. Sajith Premadasa’s bizarre visit to the President.
It was Mr. Sajith Premadasa who called up a media briefing at the Temple Trees through Mr. Wasantha Senanayake, who happened to have somewhat disappointed about the UNP, for having him to state that he will not be leaving the party.
When the journalists rose as to learn Mr. Sajith Premadasa’ opinion about the current political crisis, he said that he has no opposition to continue the Yahapalana Government once again.
However, on the following day, Mr. Wasantha Senanayake was sworn in before President Maithreepala Sirisena as the Minister of Tourist and Wildlife.
Accordingly, the UNP supporters point out that the behaviour of Mr. Sajith Premadasa is now questionable, adding that they have a dilemma whether he plays Re Daniel Dawal Miguel.
