Mr. Wasantha Senanayake, who has recently been sworn in Minister of Tourist and Wildlife, has become a conversative topic among many these days, with his departure to abroad even before a week has passed since his appointment. That is, for which a dilemma rises whether he is attempting to make another switch.
He has left to London yesterday (05), after meeting with the Mahanayaka theros, to take participation in WTM (World Travel Market) in London. Mr. Wasantha Senanayake is very fond of travelling overseas, and he always asked for a ministerial position, deputy ministry for the least, that is highly concentrated in tourism.
Accordingly, his wish has become true soon after he assumed his duties in the ministerial position. It was former Minister of Tourist John Amarathunga who was intended to be kept on participation at the event. However, with the unexpected changes, Mr. Wasantha Senanayake got the opportunity instead.
According to sources closer to Mr. Mahinda Rajapakshe, parallel to Mr. Senanayake's departure to London, another special individual has left on an urge to London from Abudabi city. He has reportedly carried a special gift to the Minister as well. This was none other than Parliamentarian Sajin Was Gunawardena, the secret financial advisor of Mr. Mahinda Rajapakshe.
The commission of Fifty Million Rupees, in regard to Mr. Senanayake's party switch, has been carried with Mr. Gunawardena on his way to London, at the rumour of his attempt for another switch. Sajin Was at an urge was set to leave to London immediately, because Mahinda's party learns that some of the former ministers from SLFP, who happened to hold ministerial positions in the previous Government, with Mr. Wasantha Senanayake and another couple of parliamentarians who recently switched parties are carrying out discussions with the United National Party for a re-switch. Therefore, Mahinda's party is reportedly at their process of commissioning the parliamentarians effective immediately.
If Mr. Wasantha Senanayake is paid by the promised Fifty Million Rupees by the Mahinda party, he presumably would continue to support Mr. Mahinda Rajapakshe. Otherwise, Wasantha Senanayake, who swore before his former leaders would not be switching and still switched, is more likely to make another switch in future.
