Ranil Wickramasinghe has sent a message to President Maithripala Sirisena saying that he will never take revenge on the President.
It is reported that Ranil Wickramasinghe sent the above message to the President after Mano Ganeshan exposed what was discussed during the meeting held yesterday between the President and a group of Tamil Progressive Alliance (TPA) members including Mano Ganeshan and Palani Digambaram.
The President had requested the TPA to appoint someone other than Ranil Wickramasinghe as the Prime Minister in case Mahinda Rajapaksa loses the motion of no-confidence which will be filed by the United National Front (UNF) against Mahinda Rajapaksa.
He had further stated that he cannot continue to work with Ranil Wickramasinghe.
After Mano Ganeshan spoke of this matter, Ranil Wickramasinghe had called him.
Ranil Wickramasinghe had stated that he will not take revenge on either the President or his group. He had instructed Mano Ganeshan to inform the President that his politics does not include retaliation, and that the President must not harbour any fear or doubt about that.
Ranil Wickramasinghe had also invited the President to work together again without making many mistakes to cover up one mistake.
However, it is still not clear how this political crisis will end.
