President Maithripala Sirisena has ordered to temporarily close down the Sri Lanka Freedom Party (SLFP) headquarters.
The President is currently on a private trip in Thailand with his family. He will return on 30th December.
SLFP’s internal conflicts have reportedly caused the President’s decision.
It is reported that SLFP seat organizers had expressed disapproval of the decision taken by the President to form a SLPP-SLFP coalition.
At the SLFP seat organizers’ meeting this dispute had worsened, and SLFP General Secretary Prof. Rohana Lakshman Piyadasa was almost about to be beaten by seat organizers, sources said.
