Following our disclosure of wasting public money by the State officials who were setting on a trip to Dubai claiming to have Makandure Madush (known as the drug lord) delivered back to Sri Lanka, a group of officers from the Attorney General's Department, Terrorism Investigation Unit, Police Special Task Force, as well as the Narcotics Unit of the Police had arrived in the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) to talk about the trip to Dubai.
It was rather sarcastic that officers who hled no credit to the capture of drug lord Madush whatsoever were also present in the scene claiming victory.
Nevertheless, at an utter patience amid the numerous tales about the Dubai trip, the CID officers finally made a preface to the problem simply questioning, "Well, whom did we meet there?"
Apparently, the crew that involved in the Dubai trip stood speechless and bewildered amid this simple question, while one officer responded with stuttering words, "Well... we.... someone... from the Police... there.."
The CID directly responded back reminding the events of delivering Udayanga Weerathunga back to Sri Lanka, in which many officials were kept on lodge for days without letting them to meet the foreign authorities. The CID questioned whether they are going to face the same fate this time as well.
The CID also reminded that the Dubai Police had not yet informed the Interpol and it is pointless to travel all the way to Dubai, for which the Dubai crew stood further speechless and dissolved away wearing sad faces.
