Chief Inspector Saman Rohana of the Southern Province Special Investigations Unit, who was arrested and remanded over the abduction and killing of two busineemen in Rathgama, Bussa, has been threatened by Southern Province DIG Ravi Gunawardena.

CI Saman Rohana is scheduled to give a special statement with regard to the killings before the magistrate under section 127 of the Penal Code.

Senior DIG Ravi Wijegunawardena, after learning it, has called Saman Rohana’s wife and threatened, “tell him that if he opens his mouth, he will face what those two faced.”

Saman Rohana’s wife, informing media about this, stated her husband’s life is in danger.

Senior DIG Ravi Wijegunawardena has met with IGP Pujith Jayasundara seeking help, and the IGP has taken him to the National Police Commission. DIG Ravi Wijegunawardena, before the NPC, has stated that he is not involved in the murders in question and there’s a conspiracy against him. The NPC has responded that if he has committed an offence, nothing can be done to save him.
