No garbage in Colombo now – Patali Champika

More than 3,000 tons of garbage that had piled up in Colombo city have been removed by now, megapolis and western development minister Patali Champika Ranawaka said at a media briefing at the CMC today (08). He said what had been seen in the past days was that garbage was being dumped at dumping places in the city.

He said the law would be enforced strictly against persons and officials, who did not dispose of garbage in a proper manner. He said the support of all was needed to resolve the garbage problem.

The minister added that the wretched politics of saying no to Colombo garbage should be done away with.
