July 26, Colombo (LNW): Sri Lanka Police has launched a nationwide recruitment drive to strengthen its Police Auxiliary Service, inviting applications from qualified individuals to fill 383 vacancies across a diverse range of specialist and technical disciplines.
The recruitment programme, announced through Extraordinary Gazette No. 2497 issued on 10 July 2026, includes 177 vacancies for the rank of Sub-Inspector and a further 206 positions for Police Constables.
Prospective applicants have until 14 August 2026 to submit their applications, with the entire process being conducted through the official online application portal. Authorities have advised candidates to complete their submissions well before the closing date to avoid last-minute delays.
The available Sub-Inspector posts span numerous professional fields, including website development and content management, systems analysis, software programming, computer hardware and networking, graphic design, quantity surveying, mechanical services, catering management and planning. Recruitment is also open to suitably qualified men and women for specialist positions such as pharmacists, nurses, medical laboratory technicians and electrical draftsmen.
Meanwhile, Police Constable vacancies cover a broad spectrum of technical roles, including refrigeration and air-conditioning technicians, drivers, mechanics, electronics technicians, computer operators, welders, sound system operators and stage lighting technicians. Applications are also being accepted from both male and female candidates for positions as fitness instructors and make-up artists.
Sri Lanka Police has encouraged eligible candidates with the required qualifications and technical expertise to take advantage of the recruitment exercise, while urging institutions and members of the public to share details of the vacancies with potential applicants before the 14 August deadline.
