Showery weather in the Southwestern parts of the island is likely to increase during the next few days starting from today (19th).
Showers will occur at times in the Western, Sabaragamuwa and North-western provinces and in Galle, Matara, Kandy and Nuwara-Eliya Districts. Fairly heavy falls above 50 mm are likely at some places in Sabaragamuwa province and in Kandy and Nuwara-Eliya districts.
Showers or thundershowers will occur at several places in Uva province and in Mullaittivu, Batticaloa and Ampara districts after 2.00 p.m.
The general public is kindly requested to take adequate precautions to minimize damage caused by temporary localized strong winds and lightning during thundershowers.
