A case filed under the Public Property Act against former President Ranil Wickremesinghe and former Presidential Secretary Saman Ekanayake is scheduled to be taken up today (30) before the Colombo Fort Magistrate’s Court.
The case relates to allegations concerning the misuse of public funds. The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) had previously informed the court that investigations into the matter had been completed and that the relevant documents had been forwarded to the Attorney General for further action.
Accordingly, Colombo Fort Magistrate Pasan Amarasena ordered that the case be called today to inform the court of the Attorney General’s position on the matter.
