October 01, Colombo (LNW): The Court of Appeal has issued an open warrant for the arrest of Ven. Galagodaaththe Gnanasara Thera after he failed to attend court for a second consecutive day in proceedings relating to an alleged contempt of court.
The court directed that the warrant be carried out through the Inspector General of Police (IGP), paving the way for law enforcement authorities to take the monk into custody.
The order was made by a two-member bench comprising Justices Mayadunne Corea and Lakmali Karunanayake.
