Faizer Musthafa Says He Has No Ambition to Become Speaker of Parliament

Faizer Musthafa, a National List MP representing the New Democratic Front (NDF) and a President’s Counsel, has stated that he has no intention of becoming the Speaker of Sri Lanka’s Parliament.

Musthafa made the remarks in response to a news report published by LNW titled “Faizer Musthafa Considered for the Speaker of Parliament?”

Speaking to LNW by telephone, Musthafa clarified that he had no aspirations to assume the position of Speaker.

He said his intention was to continue serving as a Member of Parliament while pursuing his legal career as a President’s Counsel.
