May 19, Colombo (LNW): The Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption (CIABOC) has directed all public sector officials to submit their declarations of assets and liabilities before 30 June, warning that strict legal action will be taken against those who fail to comply.

In a statement issued this week, the Commission said the submission process has now been fully digitised, marking a significant shift from the previous paper-based system used by state employees and officials.

Under the new procedure, declarations must be filed electronically through the Commission’s official online platform. Authorities stated that the move is intended to improve transparency, streamline record management and strengthen monitoring under the country’s anti-corruption framework.

CIABOC further noted that officials who neglect to submit the required information within the specified period could face action under the Anti-Corruption Act, including possible investigations and legal proceedings.

The Commission has also urged institutions across the public sector to ensure that employees are informed of the updated process and complete their submissions on time to avoid penalties or administrative complications.
