Annual levy of US $ 2000 charged from Port City businesses

The Colombo Port City Economic Commission has decided to charge an annual levy of US $ 2000 for businesses operating at the Colombo Port City.

A special gazette declaration signed by President Ranil Wickremesinghe in his capacity as the Minister of Finance, Economic Stabilisation and National Policy has been issued regarding the issuance of licences for operating businesses at the Port City, and these licences will be issued after careful assessment of the applications submitted for business operations expected on the grounds.

The investors are also expected act in compliance with the regulations by the Central Bank of Sri Lanka (CBSL), the Colombo Port City Economic Commission stated.
