The 50% surcharge imposed on vehicle import taxes from May 15 has been extended until December 31, 2026, the Ministry of Finance announced.
Accordingly, the extension will take effect from today (15) and remain in force until December 31, 2026.
The extension has been issued under powers vested in the President under Section 10A of the Customs Ordinance (Chapter 235), as amended by Act No. 83 of 1988.
However, the order will not apply to motor vehicle imports for which letters of credit were opened on or before May 15, 2026.
