Search and Salvage Efforts Underway After Navy Vessel Incident Off Angulana

August 16, Colombo (LNW): Search efforts are continuing off Angulana today (16) following an accident involving a Dvora-class patrol craft operated by the Sri Lanka Navy.

The Navy said 11 personnel who were rescued from the incident yesterday (15) are receiving medical treatment. Their condition has been described as stable.

Authorities are also preparing to begin a salvage operation to recover the affected naval vessel from the sea.

However, rough conditions in the area are expected to make the recovery operation particularly difficult. Naval teams are continuing to monitor the situation while search and recovery activities remain in progress.
