New Secretary to the President Gamini Senarath assumes duties

Gamini Senarath assumed duties as the new Secretary to the President today (19) at the Presidential Secretariat.

Dr. PB Jayasundara, who was the Secretary to the President, resigned from his post recently and Gamini Senarath was appointed accordingly.

Until then he had been the Prime Minister’s Secretary.

Gamini Senarath joined the Sri Lanka Administrative Service in 1984 and has held a number of senior positions including Deputy Controller of the Department of Immigration and Emigration, Commissioner of the Department of Motor Traffic, Additional Secretary to the Prime Minister and Chief of Staff to the Prime Minister.

Gamini Senarath was educated at Rahula College, Matara and Richmond College, Galle. He is a graduate of the University of Kelaniya.
