August 20, Colombo (LNW): President Anura Kumara Dissanayake arrived at Parliament today as lawmakers began the day’s proceedings.
The sitting got underway at 9.30am, with MPs initially taking part in the Question Time session, during which ministers are responding to oral questions raised by members of the House.
Later in the day, Parliament is due to turn its attention to the Second Reading of the Employment of Women, Young Persons and Children (Amendment) Bill. The debate is scheduled to continue from 11.30am until 5pm.
The legislation is expected to draw attention as Parliament considers proposed changes relating to employment provisions affecting women, young people and children.
