September 03, Colombo (LNW): Several officials attached to Parliament have provided information to the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption (CIABOC) as part of an ongoing inquiry into a complaint concerning the alleged use of official vehicles and residences by the Speaker.
The officials appeared before the anti-corruption commission today (03), reportedly carrying documents and other material requested in connection with the investigation.
The inquiry stems from a complaint submitted on 2 February 2026 by former Deputy Secretary-General of Parliament Chaminda Kularatne, along with several other parties. The complaint raised allegations over the purported misuse of vehicles and official accommodation assigned to the Speaker.
CIABOC has continued gathering evidence and statements from relevant parties as it examines the allegations. The latest appearance by parliamentary officials is understood to form part of those continuing investigations.
