September 06, Colombo (LNW): Heat index, the temperature felt on human body is likely to increase up to ‘Caution level’ at some places in North-Central, Eastern provinces and Jaffna, Kilinochchi, Mullaittivu, Vavuniya, Kurunegala and Monaragala districts during the daytime.
The public, therefore, is urged to stay hydrated and take breaks in the shade as often as possible, check up on the elderly and the sick, never leave children unattended, limit strenuous outdoor activities, find shade and stay hydrated, and wear lightweight and white or light-colored clothing.
