Former Air Force Chief, Ex-Royal Astrologer Appear Before Investigative Authorities

September 10, Colombo (LNW): Former Sri Lanka Air Force Commander Air Chief Marshal Roshan Goonetileke appeared before the Financial Crimes Investigation Division (FCID) today (10) after being directed to report to the division at 9.30am.

Goonetileke is understood to have been called in to provide information as investigators continue examining the controversial acquisition of MiG aircraft, a transaction that has been the subject of scrutiny for several years.

His arrival at the FCID comes as authorities continue to gather statements and examine various aspects of the deal as part of the ongoing financial crime investigation.

Separately, former royal astrologer Sumanadasa Abeygunawardena also visited the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption this morning.

Abeygunawardena was reportedly asked to give a statement in relation to an investigation involving the ‘Siriliya Saviya’ organisation.
