September 11, Colombo (LNW): Former President Gotabaya Rajapaksa appeared before the Financial Crimes Investigation Division (FCID) on Thursday to give a statement as part of an ongoing inquiry into the controversial MiG aircraft transaction.
Rajapaksa had been directed to appear before investigators in connection with the probe, which concerns the circumstances surrounding the deal involving the acquisition of MiG aircraft.
The investigation also saw former Air Force Commander Air Chief Marshal Roshan Goonetileke questioned by the FCID on Wednesday. He spent more than five hours at the division before leaving after completing his statement.
