September 17, Colombo (LNW): Showers will occur at times in the Western, Sabaragamuwa and Southern provinces. Fairly heavy falls above 50 mm are likely at some places in Galle, Matara, Kalutara and Rathnapura districts.
Several spells of showers will occur in the North western province and in Kandy and Nuwara-Eliya Districts.
Showers or thundershowers will occur at several places in Uva and Eastern provinces and in Mullaittivu and Polonnaruwa districts after 1.00 p.m.
The general public is kindly requested to take adequate precautions to minimise damage caused by temporary localised strong winds and lightning during thundershowers.

Condition of Rain: Showers or thundershowers will occur at times in the sea areas off the coast extending from Negombo to Hambanthota via Colombo and Galle.
Showers or thundershowers may occur at few places in the other sea areas during the evening or night.
Winds: Winds will be South-westerly.
Wind speed will be (25-35) kmph.
Wind speed can increase up to (55-60) kmph at times in the sea areas off the coast extending from Hambantota to Pottuvil.
Wind speed can increase up to 50 kmph at times in the sea areas off the coast extending from Galle to Hambantota and from Kankasanthurai to Puttalam via Mannar.
State of Sea: The sea areas off the coast extending from Hambantota to Pottuvil will be rough at times.
