September 20, Colombo (LNW): Sri Lankan model Savinda Tennakoon has returned home after making an impressive showing at the Top Model of Universe 2026 pageant in Turkey, where he finished third overall and was also recognised with the Best National Costume award.
The international competition took place in Istanbul from September 14 to 18, bringing together contestants representing 33 countries.
Tennakoon arrived at Bandaranaike International Airport in Katunayake at around 5.10am today (20) on Turkish Airlines flight TK-730.
He was greeted at the airport by his parents and Mayura Perera, the National Director of the Top Model of Universe competition.
Tennakoon is currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science at a university in England, alongside his modelling career.
