Opposition to Submit No-Confidence Motion Against Speaker on Friday

October 06, Colombo (LNW): An opposition motion seeking a vote of no confidence in Speaker of Parliament Dr Jagath Wickramaratne is due to be formally presented to Parliament on Friday, 9 October, Opposition MP Ajith P. Perera announced during today’s sitting.

Responding to the announcement, Transport Minister Bimal Rathnayake said the Government would propose that the motion be taken up for debate during the first parliamentary week following its submission.
