CCTVs in Airport Customs turned off amidst TU action?

Colombo (LNW): The CCTV camera system installed at the Airport Customs is turned off amidst a trade union action being taken place against the current government’s policies, sources said.

During query, sources told LNW that the existing CCTV system at the Airport Customs is not functioning due to the protests.

The Immigration Dept too has CCTVs installed but are placed in a way that they do not cover the immigration desks closely only from afar, sources added.

Some trade union members responded to the claim saying that this is a false statement planted to weaken the trade union actions, but the industrial sources confirmed that the CCTV camera systems’ inactive status can be proven with evidence, and the simplest solution ought to be proving that functioning cameras are placed everywhere covering the premises 100 per cent, should any resistance to this claim grow further.
