Spread of dengue in Gampaha could reach alarming levels

Colombo (LNW): The spread of dengue infection may reach alarming levels in the Gampaha district in the next few months, warned the Gampaha District Secretariat.

The highest number of dengue cases are reported from the Gampaha district, and according to the National Dengue Control Unit, about 22 per cent of the total number of dengue cases have been reported in Gampaha.

Data shows the number of dengue cases reported in Sri Lanka has risen up to 36,911.
