Overall Inflation (Y-O-Y) drops to 4.6 per cent in July

Colombo (LNW): The overall inflation rate measured by the National Consumer Price Index (NCPI) has dropped to 4.6 per cent in the month of July, 2023, the Department of Census and Statistics revealed.

The figure appears to have declined in comparison to the 10.8 per cent reported in June, 2023.

Food inflation has decreased to – 2.5 per cent in July from the 2.5 per cent recorded in the month before, and non-food inflation to 10.9 per cent from the 18.3 per cent in the month before.
