A person has reportedly been shot dead by two assailants who had broken into a house in Matugama Balika Road area.
The victim, 38, was a mother of three.
While the exact motive of the killing is yet to be identified, the Police suspect that the two assassins had come to kill the woman’s husband.
The victim’s husband was at home at the time of the shooting but was not injured.
Six T-56 shell cases were recovered from the scene.
The victim’s body is kept at Nagoda Hospital, Kalutara and investigations have been launched into the incident, Police added.
